Your home’s maintenance calendar, set to your climate
Gutters, furnace, pipes and the rest don’t run on the same schedule in Miami and Minneapolis. Tell us your ZIP code and what your house has, and get a month-by-month plan you can print or add to your phone.
Your calendar
How this calendar works
Your ZIP code tells us your county’s climate zone, using the 2021 zones of the U.S. building energy code (IECC) as published by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, matched to ZIP codes with the 2020 Census. When a ZIP code crosses county lines, we use the county at its center. Each zone has different freeze dates and heating and cooling seasons, so tasks like winterizing pipes or booking an AC tune-up move to the month that makes sense where you live.
Tasks with a source follow guidance from U.S. agencies such as the Fire Administration, ENERGY STAR and the EPA. The rest are common practice. This is general guidance: your equipment manual and a qualified professional always come first.
